Because the Ultimate Alliance failed to find the sword Dragonfang, Valkyrie died in the battle to prevent Ragnarok. She was burned in a funeral pyre alongside Balder, who died trying to save her. The consequences of this will have the people of Asgard be forbidden to contact Earth for a century.[1]
