Buck joined the Marines and was trained by "Boot-Camp" Brady. Initially he proved to be quarrelsome and tried to bully his comrades and at the same time tried several times to prove himself against his instructor and as always he was soundly defeated but over time he proved to be a real marine and considered his fellow soldiers as the family that he did not have.
