History

Beef was recruited to the Hellfire Club's junior team of mutants by the villainous White Queen. After suffering the loss of the second Thunderbird, Beef was picked up as the Hellions new powerhouse. His first mission required the Hellions to fight the New Warriors to vie for the membership of Firestar. During the initial stages of the fight, Beef was fully willing to kill Silhouette and Tai, though the latter was most likely immune to any efforts he would have made. Beef fell short of the mark placed on him when he was beaten by the New Warrior Namorita.[7]

Soon after, Emma threw a party which the Hellions, as well as the X-Men Gold team, attended. It was there that Trevor Fitzroy — a member of the villainous group known as the Upstarts — crashed the party with the goal of killing Emma in order to gain points within the group. The Hellions were mere formalities: Beef was killed in the initial onslaught, sent crashing through the penthouse window to die on the streets below. The rest of his teammates were drained of their life energies in order to fuel Fitzroy's teleportation portal.[8]

Necrosha[]

Beef, along with all other deceased Hellions, was resurrected by Selene and Eli Bard using the Transmode Virus.[4] Beef and the Hellions launched an attack on Utopia,[9][10] but they were defeated and killed by the New Mutants.[5]

Krakoa[]

Years later, when the Krakoa mutant nation was established, Beef and other Hellions were seen alive again, presumably resurrected by The Five. The Hellions confronted Empath over his actions involving Sinister's Hellion team before Empath used his powers on him to make Beef happy to see him.[6]

Powers

Beef is a mutant with augmented muscle mass. Thanks to it he was bigger and bulkier than his fellow Hellions and visibly towered other them. His muscles granted him superhuman strength, durability and stamina.[11] He was able to exchange blows with Namorita for a long time, until she was immersed in water, became stronger and overpowered him.[12] His durability, however, seems to be quite limited, as he died after crashing through several buildings and then falling from a great height.[3]
