History
"Buried Alien" was an amnesiac speedster from another universe, he claimed that he had a wife and friends and that he had to run fast to try to save his universe. Suddenly appearing in an electrical storm, Buried Alien found himself in the Runner Galactic Marathon that was under way. Feeling this ball of energy, like lightning inside of him and the need to move started to run. He quickly caught up to and beat the remaining contestants Speed Demon, Quicksilver, The Whizzer, Makkari and was declared to be the fastest man alive by the Runner.[2]
Going by the alias "FastForward", he was invited to another of the Runners Galactic Marathons but this time with the Runner participating in the race. With the race underway, Buried Alien found that the Runner and Makkari were neck-and-neck to each other. Surprised that they had outrun the others, he broke ahead of Runner and Makkari, and took a look back to see fellow competitor Fooferah cheating by taking out the other racers. When Fooferah than targeted Makkari, Buried Alien scarified his lead and his chance to win by stopping the attack and stayed back to deal with Fooferah.[1]Attributes
Powers
- Superhuman Speed: He out sped a number of Earth's speedsters, in Speed Demon, Quicksilver, The Whizzer, and Makkari. The source of his immense speed may be related to electricity, as he said it felt like there was a ball of lightning inside of him.
Trivia
- "Buried Alien" is a reference to Barry Allen, the Flash of the DC Universe. Besides a similar sounding "real" name, the character wore a tattered red costume with yellow accents and boots, felt like he had a "ball of energy -- like lightning -- inside of" him, was from an alternate reality, and when he first appeared the last thing he remembered was "running", a reference to Barry Allen's death in Crisis on Infinite Earths, where he ran himself to death (here, instead of dying, he was transported to another reality). He is also declared the "fastest man alive" (the Flash's most common epithet) by the end of his first appearance, which he says "feels... right".
