History
Burundi was a east-African country located in the Great Lakes region, bordered by Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the east and south, Mbangawi to the north-east and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west.[1] Its fauna includes giant crocodiles, counted among the most savages creatures in the world; Kraven the Hunter succeded in hunting these animals.[2]
Hit by a civil war including the use of child-soldiers, it was possibly one of the poorest countries in the world. Due to this, and to a tendency to have trouble when visiting, Wolverine disliked Burundi.[3]

On Earth-1999999, NYPD detective Eddy Costa and his husband Russell Costa adopted a Burundian girl from an orphanage in Burundi through an agency, interacting with her via video before she was sent to the States. The agency warned the Costas that, as life in Burundi was far different from life in New York City, the first weeks would mean a very important change for her.[4]Notes
