History
Origins[]
Known by various names, the Cabal of Scrier are the ancient followers of Scrier, a Cosmic Entity who spent millennia dormant under an ancient Himalayan temple. Members of the cult wore identical hooded robes and ghostly masks costumes and had ties to organized crime across Europe, their ultimate goal being the pursuit of wealth and power.[2]
Modern Age[]
The Cabal gradually splintered:
- The returned Scrier eventually left with Outrider (Martin Zantz), along with a few followers that defected from the Cabal.
- Matthew DeRoma ("Scrier Junior"), usurped from the Cabal, led a rebellious faction, composed mainly of younger Scriers, who wished to restore the ancient ways of the Cabal. DeRoma was eventually killed, possibly by Norman Osborn, after he tried to use Osborn's grandson Normie.
- Osborn then gathered his loyal Scriers to establish the Order of the Goblin.
- Other Scriers remained faitful to the old Cabal.[1]
