History
Calderak is one of the mutant inhabitants of Arakko, who challenged Storm to a duel in the Circle Perilous for her place in the Great Ring of Arakko, as he did not accept that a mutant from Krakoa could occupy such an important place reserved for the strongest warriors.[1] He was defeated by Storm, who froze Calderak's body with a heavy frost.[1]
He later contended with Kobak Never-Held for the empty Seat of Victory.[2] Though Kobak won,[3] Calderak survived to participate in the Blood Dawn later that year.[4]Personality
Calderak has the aggressiveness typical of Arakko mutants.

Magma Form: Calderak is a mutant whose entire body is composed of volcanic rock, lava secreting from his eyes and mouth.[1]
Weaknesses
Calderak's fiery physiology is susceptible to being cooled down.[1]
Notes
- Calderak's name presumably derives from the word caldera, the name for a crater formed by volcanic eruption.
- As only Omega-level mutants have historically been allowed to sit on the Great Ring of Arakko, Calderak's challenge in the Circle Perilous to join the Ring could mean that he is one;[1] however, his failure in the challenge leaves his status unconfirmed.[5]
