History

Cam Long is a mutant born to a Chinese father and an Irish mother. After their parents' divorce, they spent their early childhood with their father in China. Following their father's death when they were in elementary school they moved to Ireland, being taken care of by their mother.[3] As a mutant, they ultimately wound up on Genosha, the mutant nation ruled by Magneto, where they were one of the countless mutants killed during Cassandra Nova's Sentinel attack.[2]

With the establishment of a subsequent mutant nation on the island of Krakoa, dead mutants were granted a second chance in life thanks to the Resurrection Protocols implemented by the Five.[4] Cam Long presumably returned to life thanks to this process and became a citizen of Krakoa, living in the Akademos Habitat and being teamed up with a group of similar mutants with feral abilities.[2]

Cam Long and their girlfriend Aura were recommended by the Quiet Council of Krakoa and the Great Captains to be tutored by Bishop as part of his War College operation. Bishop's method involved intensive and ruthless exercises, raising tensions between him and his pupils. Cam openly confronted Bishop expressing their wish to abandon the War College. Bishop eventually readapted his method with Tempo's help, earning his cadets' approval. However, they were unexpectedly attacked by the Fenris Twins during their training in an underground tunnel while Bishop and Tempo got accidentally stranded in an alternate universe. During the ensuing fight, both Cam and Andreas von Strucker fused with Amass until they were separated with knockout-gas by Andrea von Strucker. Amass and Cam were then apprehended by the Struckers' henchmen. Although the rest of the War College came to their rescue, they were too late to stop the Struckers from drilling to the Pit. However, Bishop and Tempo arrived back on the scene just in time to help their students stop the Struckers from getting any further with their plans.[5]

Feral physiology: Cam Long is a mutant gifted with feral appearance and abilities. Their body is covered in white fur patterned with black stripes similar to those of a tiger, pointed ears, sharp teeth, and vertical pupils. They have enhanced senses and reflexes.[6]
