History
Cape Prince of Wales is the westernmost part of North America, located in Alaska overlooking the Bering Strait. In the 1950s, the Soviets attempted to build an undersea tunnel that would connect the East Cape in Siberia to Cape Prince of Wales in Alaska, leading the Sub-Mariner to believe it was being built in collaboration with the Americans for a trade deal and then asking for his help in realization. Suspicious that there were no American engineers on the project, Namor discovered that it was a military operation and not a commercial one and sabotaged the work.[1]
