Synopsis for "The Princess of the Atom - Part II"

Continued from last issue...

Cap and Bucky avoid the acid by changing size and then board a size change ship which takes them to Mita, the microworld. Unknown to Bucky, a shrunken Togaro has hitched a ride on his cuff. He plots to use his own size change ship to destroy Mita and take his men back to Earth for conquest. He causes his size change ship to grow so large that it throws Mita out of its orbit into the sun. The population panics, but Cap uses their size change ship to grow large enough to house them and they pursue Togaro back to Earth. Cap and Bucky take enough of the enlarging drug to defeat Togaro and his giants.

Synopsis for "Deposits of Death!"

Making a deposit, Torch and Toro are caught in a bank explosion, the fifth one in a month. They clear a path to safety but are unable to save everyone. Realizing the explosion came from the vault. Torch asks the bank president for recent deposit slips. Meanwhile, at his hideout, the bomber, Nazi saboteur von Richter. tells his men that the bank explosions will motivate people to keep their wealth at home, where criminals can more easily steal it. thus lowering national morale. Having also acquired slips from the other four banks. Torch determines five signatures, each from a different bank, to have been written by the same person. He and Toro stake out Manhattan's sixth largest bank, with Torch disguised as a guard. When von Richter. with a packaged bomb, arrives and signs a deposit slip. Torch recognizes the handwriting and follows him to the vaults, where he tackles him. Von Richter's men enter the fray, as does Toro. and the saboteurs are soon defeated. Von Richter flees in a car. but Torch retrieves the bomb and throws it into the car. where it explodes and kills the Nazi.

Synopsis for "Bonus to Boot"

Two young men got to a wealthy recluses house to sell him war bonds but find a different man opening the door. When questioning the owner's whereabouts the man told the two boys, Ned and Jack, that he left and wouldn't be back for a long time.

After closing the door the boys knew something was wrong because Mr. Arnold, the owner of the house, had a bad leg which made traveling extremely difficult. The boys investigated and found Mr. Arnold tied up in the basement. After untying him they learned the man was a thief that was there to still Mr. Arnold's money.

Given the difficulty it would be to move Mr. Arnold the boys decided to stop the criminal themselves. Tackling the criminal in the dark they were able to get his gun away from him but not before a shot went off that hit Jack. Ned was able to to tangle with the criminal long enough for Mr. Arnold to knock him out with his cane. After the scuffle Jack was going to be alright and Mr. Arnold decided to use his money for good use and buy some war bonds and having no one in his life decided if he were to pass he'd give them to the two boys who fought off the attacker.

Synopsis for "The Russian Hell-Hole"

In an army convoy, Steve, Duffy, and their outfit sail for Russia. Bucky comes along, working in the tramp steamer's galley. Nazi planes attack the convoy, and the steamer sinks, but Steve and Bucky commandeer a Nazi plane. Hours later, Cap and Bucky crash land in northern Russia. They hike inland and see Nazi soldiers pin down and shoot two Russian soldiers, both of whom are intelligence operatives. One dying Russian tells Cap. "October...icebergs...map." Donning the dead men's parkas, Cap and Bucky find a German supply convoy heading for an apparent iceberg. Sighted, the two surrender to learn more. They are taken within an "iceberg." a shell housing a Nazi aircraft carrier and planes. The commander imprisons them, and Bucky finds a map in his parka, which indicates a pending Nazi attack on Murmansk. Cap and Bucky escape, sabotage the ship's radio room, and commandeer a boat to escape the "iceberg." Once outside, they flee on skis. Locating the Russian operatives' shack, they radio Moscow, remembering the codeword "October" to prove their story's validity, and warn them of the impending Iceberg" attack. After escaping a wolf pack, they receive food and rest at a Lapp village but are again captured and imprisoned on the iceberg commander's ship, which leads the invasion fleet. During battle with the alerted Russians, the ship is struck and quickly takes in water. Chained in a cell. Cap and Bucky expect to die until a dead guard floats by allowing them to obtain his key. Escaping through a torpedo tube, they are rescued by Russian sailors. Days later. Cap and Bucky are honored at the Kremlin, guests of Stalin himself.

Synopsis for "The Ration Book Counterfeits"

Roddy Colt is out selling War Stamps when he happens upon Weasel Waxter and Stumpy Logan, two local hoods. He is surprised when Stumpy pays him $100 for War Stamps. Later he hears from Mr. Warren that there is a local gang selling counterfeit ration books and making a fortune on it. Roddy decides to investigate as the Secret Stamp.

Checking the back window of the local pool hall he catches Waxter and Logan's gang busy working printing presses. He smashes into the operation and defeats the crooks, turning them over to the FBI after breaking up their operation.
