Synopsis for "Undercover of the Night"
Captain America is on the hunt for his shield after it was stolen by Batroc's Brigade and sold to Stane International.[1] He goes to the Manhattan headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D. to enlist the aid of Nick Fury and they soon discover that Myron MacLain, who had constructed the shield, is missing and seemingly abducted.
Captain America visits Stane International headquarters on Long Island posing as an Australian munitions businessman seeking impervious metal and meets with Obadiah Stane until Nomad creates a diversion and pulls him away. He quickly changes into his Captain America uniform and infiltrates the lab where MacLain is being held by Richard Arons. Arons dons armor built by MacLain with similar properties to Captain America's shield and attacks Captain America. Captain America seeks his shield but there are numerous replicas and none of them are painted.
Nomad eventually arrives and gets MacLain to identify the real shield. Once in his possession, Captain America is able to quickly disable the armor worn by Arons with a skillful throw. MacLain admits the armor didn't compare to the original shield and they then flee the headquarters, having succeeded in freeing MacLain and reclaiming the shield, but realizing they'll have to deal with Stane and his nefarious actions on a future date.
