Synopsis for "Remote Control"

Captain America enlists the aid of Hank Pym in removing the Controller's slave disc from an unconscious Namor. However, the two are forced to admit that the only person who knows how to safely remove it is the Controller himself.

In downtown Queens, the Controller joins a crowd of civilians as they watch Thor battle the Juggernaut. Crossbones spots Controller who refuses orders to return to Red Skull's headquarters. Crossbones had anticipated this and has the Voice use his powers to compel the Controller to follow directions. Captain America stows aboard Crossbones' plane and battles the Controller, who eventually leaves Cap for defeated, incorrectly believing that he had implanted him with a slave disc.

At the Red Skull's headquarters, the Skull commands the Controller to place a slave disc on the mysterious man who is trying to ally the world's greatest supervillains together. The controller places the disc, but the man reveals that he is immune to its effects before teleporting away.

Notes

  • This issue contains a letters page, American Graffiti. Letters are published from: James Fitzgerald, Howard T. Kidd, and Patrick B. Milano.
  • This issue has a very infamous panel where it looks like the Voice is saying "Captain America, I command you to wank!" (wank being British slang for masturbate).
