Synopsis for "One Year After"

A year after Captain America was murdered, Sharon Carter remembers wat happened, how did shi killed Rogers. Then, she looks for a man who was a Zola´s spy too and after Carter confronted him with something that Fury gave to her, she finds the weapon that she used to kill Rogers. Then, in a Cafe, the other Steve Rogers( the 50´s one) sat watching a TV programm on the CNN in memorial to Steve Rogers, when a woman tells him that he is identical to Captain America. He remembers his surgeries, his first fights against the communists, and his criogenic jail. In a Hammer´s maxim security prision Cross Bones pretenda escaping with Sin, but he is captured. At the Avengers Secret base, Bucky and Barton are practicing when Black Widow fears about an "ilegal" homenage to Captain America at Central Park, and tells Bucky that would be better to not assist because of the Osborne´s Avengers. Then, in aother place, Red Skull remembers his fightings against Captain America douring WWII and reveals that he didn´t wanted to kill him at all, but also torment him. That night, at central park, Falcon an d the Avengers are prepared for escaping if Osborne finds them, but he prefers to make a public advice, that the reunion was legal and that he honors Captain America as a real patriont. Everyone agrees at him and then Sharon Carter apears only for telling Bucky that Rogers could be saved!

  • This issue also contains "My Bulletin Board" by Joe Simon, discussing the bulletin board Joe Simon used to show the various artists how to draw Captain America originally.
  • The original comic art depicted in Story III, "Memorabilia" reportedly done by Steve Rogers is actually from Captain America co-creator Jack Kirby. The artwork was previously published in the Captain America stories in Tales of Suspense #81 page 6, and Tales of Suspense #85 page 7.
