History
Carl Mach was a mercenary operating as a security officer for the Life Foundation when he was bonded to the Phage Symbiote.[1]

Bonded to the Phage Symbiote
Scream had a psychotic episode and decided to conquer New York City with the Symbiote Hive. Manipulating Carl's Symbiote Codex, the Phage Symbiote possessed Carl.[1]
Scream was ultimately defeated when Superior Spider-Man created an anti-symbiote ray that briefly gave Carl and the other hosts control of their bodies. When he became freed from the symbiote's control, Phage continued to work with the Hive, believing himself to be on a mission for the Life Foundation. The Spider-Men were able to convince him otherwise, and he joined their ranks.[1]
Mach was among the symbiotes hosts in the Symbiote Prison. He rejoined the Hive to organize a prison break and exact revenge on Spider-Man.[1]Attributes
