History
When the Poison Hive invaded Earth-616, they located Cletus Kasady -- intending to neutralize the threat he posed after a variant had proved an effective weapon against them previously. Locating him in prison lacking the lower half of his body and his symbiote, the Poisons offered to help him reacquire the latter -- an offer Cletus readily accepted.[1] However, the Poisons double-crossed Cletus, instead forcibly bonding him to a new symbiote in preparation for consuming him to add his might and bloodlust to their army. Cletus escaped, intent on slaughtering the Poisons and hunting down his beloved original symbiote, but was ambushed by a Poison and consumed.[2]
Cletus' insatiable bloodlust enabled him to overpower the Poison's mind and seize control of his new form, though he feigned loyalty to the Poison Queen and helped lead an attack on Alchemax to flush out the symbiote hosts.[3] Returning to the Poison mothership, Poison Carnage battled Venom and Symbiote Spider-Man -- fatally wounding the latter -- before being launched into space; and was one of two known Poisons to survive the Poison Queen's death.[4]
Some time later, Poison Carnage perished -- its crystalline shell and consumed symbiote crumbling to reveal Cletus' restored organic body.[5]Personality
