Synopsis for "Symbiosis Necrosis (Part 2): The Father"

As Cletus Kasady carries the corpse of Jack Jr. in a duffel bag, the Carnage symbiote recalls the inherited memory of NYPD officer Jack Sr.'s murder by Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote. Watching Eddie's teenaged son Dylan Brock--current host of the Venom symbiote--leave his apartment to go job-hunting, Cletus vetoes the Carnage symbiote's suggestion they just grab the boy and torture the information they need out of him. Saying he wants Dylan scared and isolated, Carnage enters the apartment and incapacitates the landlady Mrs. Mitchell, leaving her tied up with a message for Dylan. Entering Dylan's apartment, Cletus asks his symbiote why their revenge needs to be against Eddie and the Venom symbiote together. Cletus ponders if they instinctively fear what Eddie will become unless they destroy him, but the Carnage symbiote sneers that it doesn't matter and that both Eddie and the Venom symbiote will die. Cletus stages the scene, hanging Jack Jr.'s corpse in a carefully-staged display for Dylan to find.

Travelling to Dylan's new workplace, Cletus is mildly impressed that Dylan got a job, albeit an exploitative one. Entering the back of the warehouse, Cletus confronts Mr. Gunderson and nonchalantly accuses him of committing tax evasion. Furious, Mr. Gunderson threatens Cletus if he refuses to leave, but Cletus transforms into Carnage and quickly kills everyone in the room--doing so silently so as to not alert Dylan. Taking Mr. Gunderson's pistol, Cletus shoots Dylan's last remaining coworker in the head and walks away, leaving Dylan to follow the trail of clues he'd left.

Arriving at Our Lady of Saints Church, Cletus kills the parishioners and hangs the priest from the bell, waiting for Dylan and the Venom symbiote to arrive. Noting that Dylan didn't bring any backup, Cletus confronts the boy and antagonizes him in an attempt to get him to reveal Eddie's location. Irritated by its host's prattling, the Carnage symbiote knocks the priest from his perch, hanging him and causing the bell to ring. As Venom endangers themselves leaping into action to save him, Carnage--immune to traditional symbiote weaknesses--attacks and breaks into their minds, riffling through their memories. Delighting in torturing Dylan by making him live through the memories of the Venom symbiote's worst actions, Carnage comes across a pertinent memory in Dylan's mind and realizes that Eddie came unstuck in time after the death of his physical body. As Carnage rips the Venom symbiote from Dylan's body, Cletus expresses confusion at his symbiote's epiphany and wonders how they'll find him. In response, the Carnage symbiote impales Dylan through the heart and swats the Venom symbiote aside as it manifests a humanoid form and attempts to rebond to Dylan in order to save him. Sensing the Carnage symbiote's uncertainty, Cletus wonders if it's keeping secrets from him; but is given no time to ponder this. As Dylan dies, his latent King in Black powers activate and the Carnage symbiote is torn away from Cletus' body and plunged into the Symbiote Hive, leaving a confused and dismayed Cletus alone and naked on the floor of the church in a fetal position. Pursuing Dylan's codex into the Hive's depths, Carnage feels a tug and finds itself erupting from the chest of Meridius, absorbing some of his power and undergoing a transformation in the process.
