History

Carrie Alexander was the daughter of Caleb Alexander, an oceanographer obsessed with Namor, the avenging son of Atlantis also known as the Sub-Mariner. She became a partner to her father in his adventures on high seas after his health deteriorated due to a heart condition. Following rumors of Namor's demise, the Alexanders patrolled the Pacific Ocean aboard their ship named Oracle. By chance, Namor stumbled upon the father-daughter team of researchers, exhibiting his usual insanity. Caleb Alexander took the opportunity to test his method to calm Namor down by stabilizing his oxygen levels. In gratitude, Namor proposed a partnership with the Alexanders. Determined to preserve the oceans, he raided sunken treasures to finance his purchase a conglomerate he renamed Oracle, Inc., using the Alexanders as proxy buyers and managers. Namor also demonstrated his infatuation with Carrie Alexander.[1] The emergence of Oracle sparked the interest of rival competitors, the twins Phoebe and Desmond Marrs. An incident sparked by the Marrs caused the monstrous Griffin to kidnap Carrie Alexander. In order to protect his daughter, Caleb Alexander fought back, but experienced a heart attack.[2] Namor rescued her, but the attack made the Alexanders question their position at Oracle, Inc. Despite Namor having professed his lover for her, Carrie Alexander departed from Oracle, Inc.[3]

Having recovered on a cruise, the Alexanders wished to return to Oracle to help Namor face the corporation's problems.[4] After Namor saved them from the monstrosity Sluj, the Alexanders fully returned to Oracle. Carrie expressed her concerns about Phoebe Marrs becoming close to Namor, not trusting her intentions.[5] Despite becoming more distant from Namor, Carrie Alexander still accompanied him in his adventures. She was able to visit Atlantis and the Savage Land.[6] While Carrie was away, Caleb Alexander was brutally assaulted by Desmond Marrs when he questioned a sabotage attempt.[7] Upon learning about the incident, Carrie became horribly distressed about Phoebe Marrs' proximity to Namor and Oracle, Inc.[8] Carrie cared for her father while he was in a coma for months[9] until he eventually passed away.[10]
