History

After returning home from work, Cat's abusive husband Derek flew into a rage, and used his exo-suit to destroy her car and scare her into apologizing for not making him dinner. Once he went in to order pizza, she took his machine to get rid of him. Eighteen months after this incident, Cat created Moon's Hollow, a community inhabited by the families and/or lovers of villains and criminals who wanted to escape the bad life. Upon founding Moon's Hollow, Cat sought out these people, inviting them into a scheme of being "kidnapped" to coerce their criminal partners into robbing for them.[2]

After finding Roger Gocking and journalist Ben Urich, Cat took their perceived arrival as a threat, and captured them. Knowing Spider-Woman could expose Moon's Hollow, Cat went into a fury and brawled with the heroine in the open streets. After her exo-suit was ruined, Spider-Woman talked Cat into a peaceful resolution: Spider-Woman and Ben agreed never to divulge the true origins about the town to the world, so as to give the residents the peace they sought, so long as they refrained from all criminal enterprises.[2]

Sometime after, Cat had converted her manor into a bed and breakfast for visitors to the town, and a year later the town was prospering financially with everyone's businesses. When Jess visited, Cat was still apologetic about their first encounter, and was pleased Jess wished to remain friends.[3]

Personality

Due to the abuse by her ex, Cat struggles with PTSD but channeled her energy into building rather than destroying. Cat's creation of Moon's Hollow was an empathic gesture to others in her previous position. However, she can be prone to fits of rage, as evident when she first encountered Spider-Woman on the fear she was there to expose them.
