Cathbad was a legendary figure and the father of Conchobar mac Nessa, who was later deified as a member of the Tuatha de Danaan.
History
Origins[]
Cathbad, also known as Cuthbadth,[2] was the father of Deichtine, who mated with the sun god Lugh and gave birth to Sétanta, later known as Cúchulainn.[1] He also fathered Conchobar mac Nessa, who became the King of Ulster and sired the Irish hero Cormac.[4]
Godhood[]

Cathbad among the Tuatha warriors
After his mortal death, Cathbad was elevated to godhood and became a member of the Tuatha de Danaan. As a Tuatha warrior, he served under the Dagda.[2]
Modern Age[]
In a recent conflict, a giant troll, sent by the Fomorians, attacked a Tuatha village in Avalon. In response, the Dagda summoned Cathbad, Conor, and Angus to rally the Tuatha warriors and confront their adversaries. Leading his clan to a cliff overlooking the Fomorians' camp, Cathbad observed the battlefield from this vantage point. Rather than engaging in direct combat, the Dagda chose a strategic approach, conjuring a swarm of hornets to disperse the enemy and avoid unnecessary bloodshed.[2]See Also
