History
Chalo, an alien from the planet Nalrah, was rescued from a tar pit by a retired couple visiting Florida from Cedar Rapids. Thankful for the help in escaping his sticky prison, Chalo proceeded to tell the couple the story of his race's need to rejuvinate every two thousands years, which they must do in order to maintain their immortality. While flying through outer space, Chalo landed on Earth, wishing to explore the unfamiliar planet, but was trapped in the tar pit for the last thousand years. In gratitude for their help, Chalo bestowed a small portion of his life energy onto the couple, causing their bodies to become youthful once more, then he departed to return to his homeworld. Chalo's subsequent exploits have remained unrevealed.[1]
Attributes
Powers
- Chalo is at least 20 feet tall and possibly possesses superhuman strength proportionate to his size, though this has not been demonstrated.
- All members of Chalo's race are able to spin an egg-like womb out of the substance of their skins which they use for space travel.
- Members of Chalo's race are immortal provided they travel through space every two thousand years, absorbing the energy of many different suns while traveling in their egg sacks.
- Chalo has also proven capable of transferring some of his life-essence to other beings, causing their own bodies to become rejuvenated.
Notes
- This story has been more or less told several times. The Beast from the Bog bears a striking resemblance to the stories of both the Creature from the Black Bog and the Thing from the Hidden Swamp.
- The 'rejuvenating pupae' image appears in the "Cocoon" films.
