Darwin was able to stop Vulcan from throwing Xavier into the M'kraan Crystal by pushing Vulcan into it instead. Unfortunately it hadn't helped much, as Vulcan gained the Phoenix Force and still killed Xavier and eveyone else on the planet.[1]
