Charlie is the pet hellhound of Hunter, whom he adopted her from a pack of hellhounds that attacked The Abbey in the early 1700s. Charlie was the sole survivor whom Hunter couldn't bear to kill, and who by the following night had taken to sleeping at the foot of Hunter's bed. After her master's death, Charlie fell into the care of Caretaker. Centuries later, Charlie reunited with Hunter after his master was resurrected.[1]

Charlie accompanied her master to the Trials of the Elder Gods which took place within pocket dimensions that only those descendant from the Elder Gods could access. She also assisted Blade in a tracking a barghest that was stalking the Abbey grounds. After the barghest was captured, Doctor Strange fashioned from it a suit for Hunter to wear. Charlie became unusually attentive after Hunter had donned the suit, and when Magik opened the portal and Hunter stepped through, Charlie leapt into the portal behind them. They arrived into one of Lilith's facilities, full of Lilin who ignored Charlie because of her demonic origin and Hunter because of the suit they were wearing. However, a Human Mystic alerted others to their presence, forcing Hunter and Charlie into a fight.[1]
