Chase went to Charlotte's home in New Orleans and Charlotte said that vampires who were human had a weakness that purebloods did not possess. Charlotte asked him who he was loyal to and asked him to keep an eye on Marcus. Chase spoke to Marcus who agreed to be watched and Chase brought Charlotte a gift which was a piece of Blade's sword.[1]
