History
The group went appeared as civilians asking for Forge's autograph.[1] Together, they formed a group of mutant vigilantes including Cherub (Gabe), Cyclops-Lass (Beatrice Bartholomew), Gimmick, and the brothers Marvel Guy (Benny) and Daycrawler (Jay).
On their first mission, they stopped the depowered Hell's Belles during a robbery. After defeating them, they met the X-Men, who questioned why the team hadn't came to Krakoa yet. They invited them to come, but the Children said they weren't ready and Daycrawler teleported them away as the cops were closing by (and susceptible to oppose the young mutants due to the legislation banning teen vigilantes). During the night, the team made their way to a gateway but were unable to pass through and enter Krakoa.[2]Notes
- All members are heavily inspired by or patterned after prominent X-Men, with obvious similarity in powers, names and attire:
- Cyclops-Lass (Beatrice Bartholomew) is patterned after Cyclops (Scott Summers), one of the original X-Men.
- Cherub (Gabe) is patterned after Angel/Archangel (Warren Worthington III), another original X-Man: Though his power is to emit blast sounds, he uses a power suit reminiscent of Archangel's appearance to fly. His code-name relates as well to a choir of Angels.
- Marvel Guy (Benny), a telepath, is patterned Marvel Girl (Jean Grey), yet another original X-Man.
- Daycrawler (Jay) is patterned after Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner), one of the new, international X-Men assembled after the original X-Men's apparent demise: He is a teleporter who produces the "bamf" sound when teleporting, and his costume includes hands with seemingly only three digits (including the thumb) and feet with only two toes (though those are not physical mutations).
- Gimmick (Carmen) is patterned after Gambit (Remy LeBeau) (a thief and Marauder turned X-Man).
