Synopsis for "War Machine"

Outside the Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church in Philadelphia, America Chavez encounters Kate Bishop during the funeral of James Rhodes, and the two leave.

Monica Rambeau storms out of the funeral, briefly considering the ease of fading away by letting "the light dissipate," but chooses not to, swearing to the deceased Rhodey that she will "save the next one."

At a bar after the funeral, Misty Knight informs Sam Wilson that she'll be heading back to New York City the next day by train; on her way back, she calls her mother, then heads to the martial arts school that she and Danny Rand opened "a few years ago." There, she helps a young student to break a board, and comes to decision "to stop waiting around on super-powered men" and "be her own hero again."

At the funderal, Ororo Munroe considers the life and legacy of James Rhodes, and elects to experience the city where he grew up. The next day, she visits Independence Hall, a Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park, gets a Cheesesteak, and visits the Liberty Bell at Independence National Historical Park before deciding that she loves the city "if for no other reason than producing a good man like" James Rhodes.

Throughout the multiverse, America shows Kate different versions of Rhodey who are still alive, including a version in Earth-55 who took over as Iron Man after Tony Stark died, a version in Earth-727 who became the Mayor of Philadelphia, a version in Earth-57289 who works as a scientist for Rhodes Labs International where he employs Tony Stark, and a version that married his universe's version of Carol Danvers.
