History

Clay Quartermain, Sr. was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and friend of Hydra agents Hank Johnson and Coop.

Hank invited Clay to a charity event for Wolfgang von Strucker Elementary, but Clay would default on the invitation after receiving an offer to go to a Nests game with Coop. Clay was one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who attacked the unveiling of the Kiss of Hydra and would attempt to arrest Hank and his wife Becky. Bitter over the tickets, Hank declined the tickets to go to the charity event, punched Clay in the face. Despite this, Clay was able to arrest Coop, who took his tickets back.
