The past history of Clay Quartermain of Earth-79101 mirrors that of his Earth-616 counterpart until the day that Arachne would be sent to assassinate Nick Fury. In this reality, Arachne would succeed in her mission, and S.H.I.E.L.D. would focus its efforts to capture her. Clay would be among the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents under the command of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in attacking Hydra's secret headquarters.
