Hawkeye resigned from the Avengers when the government ordered them to not attend the peaceful Unity Rally led by Mary Richards, the daughter of Reed Richards and Sue Richards. As Hawkeye turned in his Avenger's ID card, his wife Mockingbird did the same thing.
