History
Clown demons, also known as Koyemsi[1] and Mudheads,[2] are extradimensional beings associated with the Manidoog, the Native American gods.
In the early 20th century, one Clown demon was granted shape-changing abilities by Iktomi (the god of trickery) and used those powers to escape to the Earth realm and create the human identity of Curtis M. Edwards, becoming a prominent photographer and ethnologist. In this human identity, the Clown demon traveled to various Indian reservations and took photographs that romanticized the slaughter of the indigenous population, to the overall detriment of indigenous culture. On December 21, 1925, the day of the winter solstice, Ghost Dancer (Nathaniel Great Owl) followed the trail of this Clown demon to New York City. There, Ghost Dancer exorcized the Clown demon and returned it to the Secret Worlds for atonement.[2]
In recent times, a legion of Clown demons was corrupted by a skin-walker demon calling itself “Manitou” (“Spirit”). These Clown demons served as the Manitou demon’s scouts and henchmen as it attempted to usurp the power of the Ghost Dancer, but were defeated by James Owl, the grandson of Nathaniel Great Owl and successor to the Ghost Dancer mantle.[3]Notes
