History
Colonel Kishi was a member of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. In the summer of 1944, he and his men smuggled themselves into Canada where they set up a mortar cannon to fire bombs across the river to destroy key targets in Detroit. As planned, the American military presumed that the attacks were caused by bombers, but no evidence of planes could ever be found.
Kishi's operation was discovered thanks to the quick thinking of reporter Betty Dean and her friend the Sub-Mariner. Tracking the bombs trajectory to somewhere along the Canadian boarder, the Sub-Mariner swam across Lake Huron and was captured by Kishi's men. Namor and a local fur trapper named Francois were then freed by Betty Dean and located the cannon. Captured again, both Betty and Namor were strapped to the barrel of the cannon to be killed by the next shot. However, a sudden rain revitalized Namor who was able to break himself and Betty free. Taking control of the cannon, Namor then turned it on Colonel Kishi and his men killing them with a bomb blast.[1]Paraphernalia
