History

The man known as Colonel Myrdden was a spell-man for hire, a "snatch-and-grab" lowlife. He and his team of mercenaries invaded Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum while he was off-world to steal the Book of Morphesti for an unrevealed third party.

After acquiring the desired item, he decided to open it, entering a state of paralysis, and unleashing a spell that mutated everyone in the vicinity. With the help of Spider-Man and Pavel Rasputin, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson explored the Sanctum Sanctorum and finally found Myrdden in the last floor.

While slowly being affected by the book and transforming into a monster, Coulson managed to snatch the book from Myrdden's hands and close it, putting an end to the crisis. Colonel Myrdden was left in the state of paralysis even after the book was taken from him.
