Colonel Stone resided with his daughter Stellar Stone on Earth-5391 a universe where advancements in space travel and exploration boomed in the late 20th Century. By the year 2075 he was the commander of the Space Sentinels a peacekeeping force devoted to maintaining intergalactic peace. When Captain Speed Carter's sidekick Johnny Day was kidnapped by the alien Blobs, Colonel Stone denied his requests to save the boy. Speed eventually disobeyed order in order to save his friend.[1] Later, Colonel Stone organized the Space Sentinels to coordinate an attack on the Ghoul Planet where a band of space pirates were reanimating skeletons to commit their raids.[2] Shortly thereafter when Stellar was taken prisoner by the Vegans, Speed informed Colonel Stone that they would only release her if he turned over Earth's defense map. Stone refused, but Speed ultimately betrayed his orders again, labeling the decorated hero a traitor. However, Speed altered the map to send the Vegans into a trap and rescued Stellar returning to the Space Sentinels in good graces.[3]
