Synopsis for "Combat Kelly"

Combat Kelly and Cookie Novak find themselves battling in the night when Chinese soldiers storm their trench. Even though they are cutting through the enemy with machine gun fire, they still get too close for comfort. Out of ammo with no time to reload, Kelly tosses a heavy ammo box at one of the enemy combatants. However this leaves him open for an attack from another soldier. Combat is in luck when the enemy's gun jams. The enemy soldier then tries to throw the bayonet armed rifle at Kelly, but he deflects the make-shift spear with his helmet. As they struggle, a grenade is knocked loose and goes live. Cookie tries to warn Combat, but it explodes. Fearing that his friend is dead, Cookie is surprised when Combat turns out alive and well as he rolled his opponent over the grenade to smother the blast.

With the battle over and supplies running low, Major Thorn orders Combat and Cookie to cross over into enemy lines to learn how many enemy troops they have for their next wave of attack. Exhausted from the attacks and lack of sleep, Cookie asks for some Zedrine powder to keep away while they are on recon. Taking a break on their mission, Cookie tries to take some of the powder when Combat stops him -- pointing out the medic gave him Nemputal by mistake. Cookie notices that there are enemy soldiers approaching from behind and Combat quickly tosses a grenade behind him, blasting the front line. They rush into the thick of battle with guns blazing but they are knocked out from behind.

Taken back to the enemy camp, they are shocked to find that Chinese doctors are injecting the soldiers with Opium to put them into a battle frenzy. The two create a distraction by pretending to fight each other. When Combat is knocked toward the medicine, he pours the Nemputal into the opium supplies. Not only do the doctors inject their own soldiers, but also Cookie and Combat, thinking that they will be doped up and go into battle.

Hours later, Major Thorn and his troop pass through and are surprised to find the enemy soldiers knocked out. When they find Cookie and Combat fast asleep, Major Thorn decides that they have earned their rest and places a soldier to guard them while the enemy soldiers are taken prisoner.

Synopsis for "Combat Kelly"

Combat Kelly and Cookie Novak are out on patrol when they spot an enemy truck passing by. Combat decides that they should take it intact and use it to drive home since his feet are hurting. When they surround the vehicle they are surprised when a Korean woman named Yalu River Rosie jumps out of the truck in a panic. When they think she is an enemy from the North she takes offence and tells them that she is from South Korea. She tells them that she is a South Korean gorilla who attacked the original occupants of the vehicle and when she found useful supplies in the back of the truck she decided to take it over to the American forces.

When Combat and Cookie go to see what is in the back of the truck and they find enemy soldiers hiding in back. The two American's try to fight back but they are soon over powered and taken prisoner. Yalu River Rosie and her men take Combat and Cookie back to their base and placed in a prison camp with a bunch of other American troops who have fallen for the same trap. They learn that the Chinese are forcing them to make wooden guns and attack their own lines while wearing Chinese army uniforms so that they are slaughtered by their own troops, then attack the American base wearing the G.I. uniforms.

As they are being forced to march toward the American base. Combat spots another troop of Chinese soldiers. He then tells his comrades to drop their weapons. When the Chinese soldiers see Combat and his men appear to be "ambushed" by "American soldiers", they attack, killing their fellow soldiers unaware that they are merely disguised as American soldiers. The ends in a fire fight between both Chinese forces and Combat and his fellow captivates take advantage of it by grabbing guns and mowing down the rest. With all the Chinese soldiers dead, Combat and the others strip off their uniforms and walk back to camp in their underwear so they are not accidentally shot by their own men.
