Synopsis for "Otto Bragg and Snippy"

Otto Bragg and his nephew Snippy get into numerous hijinks including. Otto dreaming of creating a ultra powerful mower he sells to the military and makes millions. Otto telling Snippy about his days as a boxer before accidently punching himself in the face. Otto working as a vacuum salesman and wrecking a potential customer's house sending him to jail for thirty days. Lastly Otto showed Snippy his artistic abilities by drawing mustaches on advertisements until an "advertisement" punched him in the face.

Synopsis for "Inky Dinky"

Inky tries to sell his painting but no one buys it so he ends up selling it to a junk collector for a penny. Inky then draws a picture of the docks after asking a man there if he could paint there. The man assumes Inky is drawing him and poses the entire time. When he realizes Inky was just drawing the scenery the man tosses Inky and his painting into the ocean. Next Inky bugs an artist with all his critiques that the artist makes him paint a picture of his own under threat of physical injury.

Synopsis for "In Hollywood"

Maisie Martin dreams she's destined for Hollywood and plans to go to dramatic school after high school. While washing dishes with her friend, Susie, she accidently breaks a bunch of dishes and her father refuses to allow her to go to a dramatic school. Undeterred Maisie decides to practice herself without going to school.

Later she and the rest of her friends meets up with Brenda who is on a date with Guy. Guy asks for an introduction and he invites Maisie to a dramatic group at school. Maisie is thrilled and accepts his invitation to act with him. The following day Maisie has gained enough popularity and attention that a jealous Brenda decides to leave the show and also cut funding from the costumes and scenery. Without money Maisie decides to ask her father for money for the costumes and her friends Jerry and Snooks to build the sets.

The night before the show Brenda takes two thugs hired by her father to sabotage the set. During the show itself a movie scout is watching as everything begins to go wrong with the sabotaged sets. Brenda's plan backfires however as everyone thinks it's intentional and that the show was suppose to be a comedy. The movie scout loves the show but in a twist of fate offers Guy a role and not Maisie. Maisie is upset until Guy invites her to go to a movie party with him. At the party she sees her friends in the crowd, including a jealous Brenda.

Synopsis for "Enter: The Creeper"

The Vagabond gets the boot from Plainville and makes his way to Bristol where he is accused of stealing manhole covers and lampposts by the local police. Having no evidence to charge him they let him go. Upon doing so the real thief, calling himself the Creeper, makes himself known to Chauncey and asks him to be his partner. Creeper then asks Chauncey to steal the last manhole cover in town. Chauncey does so, but brings it back and knocks the Creeper out with it before turning him over to the police officers who had been tailing him.

Synopsis for "The Smiling Shrimp"

A small red headed baseball player doesn't make his baseball team and is made fun of but that doesn't stop Tommy Daly. Tommy practices his "fire ball" and keeps his smile on his face. During a big game against a rival team. A renown killer named Mike Flashman is seen. Tommy now as the team's water boy uses his fire ball to beam the murderer in the head just as he's making his escape. Tommy's father arrests him and Tommy is praised for both his newly shown skills and the capture of a criminal.

Synopsis for "Casey McKann"

The Police Commissioner ties up Casey to keep him out of his way while solving a case. Upon going through the dangers of the case and solving it the Commissioner returned home to go to sleep only to be startled to death by a hot water bottle Casey had put in his bed to help him relax.

Casey arrests Mr. "Slik Bark" Sapper who is sentenced to a $10 fine or 10 years in prison. He takes the $10.

The Commissioner calls Casey to deliver him Dr. Berrypill's pills, but Casey takes Dr. Berrypill himself all the way to the Commissioner.

Finally the Commissioner asks Casey to keep and eye out. Casey spots a man and follows him only to realize it was the Commissioner himself.

Trinket meets with Stubby and offers to make him some food. Trinket gets caught by her mother making a mess and gets spanked. Later she discovers a man behind a bush who offers to buy some food from her for a nickel. Trinket does so but the food is terrible and makes the man scream and shout for water. The police witness the man and arrest him as "Slick" Bullson and give Trinket a $500 reward.

Synopsis for "The Cult of the Black Widow Spiders"

Snigdon and Snigs are out fishing when a been attacks Snigs and the two fall into the river. Trying to dry off and warm up that find an old mansion where the Cult of the Black Widow Spiders is attempting to sacrifice a girl to the black widow goddess. Snigdon accidently breaks a bowl filled with black widow spiders and it bites the cult's leader. Snigdon frees the girl and finds out her name is Sandra and the man responsible was her uncle who was after her inheritance. Her uncle dies, succumbing to the spider's venom.

Synopsis for "Ye Good Old Daze"

Ig Knight helps Starry Knight win a joust with the use of magnets. Ig Knight and Starry Knight convince the Dark Knight to lose a race by wearing unnecessary heavy armor. Starry Knight saves Thumb Prince from the giant Glumlug with a hot foot. Ig Knight loses all his money on poker and go flies a kite after they refuse to loan him money. Prince Thumb forces Starry Knight to teach a class to some squires. Starry Knight wants to try and do what William Tell did and shoot an apple off Ig's head. Ig ends up using a sign with an apple on it to try and save himself from getting an arrow to the face.

  • After this issue, the Otto Bragg and Snippy feature moves to Joker Comics, starting with Joker Comics #7.
  • Otto Bragg, introduced in this issue, is not to be confused with Otto from Educatin' Otto, introduced in the last issue.

Wheezy

  • Despite the fact that the Wheezy story is titled "Introducing Wheezy...", Wheezy was actually introduced last issue.
  • This is the final golden age appearance of Wheezy.

Inky Dinky

The Vagabond

  • The Vagabond feature will move from this series to Young Allies #4 which will mark the Vagabond's final golden age installment.
