History

The "Control-Box" is a portable emotion-controlling device that projects a ray capable of stimulating the centres of emotion within a person's brain. The device has settings allowing it to trigger fear; doubt, and hate at varying degrees of intensity. It was created by created by Psycho-Man using the advanced technology of his world Traan in Sub-Atomica of the Microverse.

Earth-1610

In this reality the Control Box works in a similar manner, but initially appeared to activate through Psycho-Man's armor and/or gauntlets. Later, Psycho-Man appeared to activate his powers through a staff. However, he eventually revealed "that there is no core psi machine". His mind directly controls the Psi-Web which allowed him, in turn, to control billions of people.
