A female mutant, Cooter has the ability to amplify the greed of others, making them susceptible to suggestion. However, it doesn’t work on those who are too honest or have too little imagination. She persuades a pub that the pebbles she carries are actually gold nuggets. This brings her into conflict with Captain Britain and Meggan, who are in the pub. She sets her cousin Bash on them. When they are later arrested, and Captain Britain and Meggan have left, she convinces the bar patrons and police that the rubble of the pub is made of gold, and they make their escape in a stolen car, suggesting they go to America.
