History
Courtney Duran attended Midtown High School with one of her best friends May Parker, aka Spider Girl. They became best friends when May was in the second grade and a boy was teasing May and Courtney bit the boy. Courtney was part of the science club.[1] At first she was only good friends with May, Davida Kirby, and Jimmy Yama. She was a geek but no one ever teased her due to her friendship with May and Davida, two semi-popular athletes. Moose Mansfield became her boyfriend when he thought she was Spider Girl, May eventually convinced him that Courtney was not Spider-Girl and Moose stopped believing it but had developed feelings for Courtney and continued their relationship. Courtney became more popular once she started dating Moose Mansfield and she became better friends with Brad Miller, Moose's best friend and a football player, and Davida Kirby, who is also popular and on the basketball team.
Things took another bad swing when Courtney came in-between Howard Kavanagh and Sandra Healy when she tried to protect Sandra from her abusive boyfriend and Howard beat both Courtney and Sandra though he beat Sandra significantly worse. Courtney was taken to the hospital with Sandra even though Courtney's injuries were not as severe. Moose was outraged and went after Howard before he finally tracked him down to the park where May Parker had just disarmed him and Moose starting hitting Howard endlessly before May talked him down. Courtney had recently returned to school and things between Courtney and Moose had hit a snag following Mooses' father's hospitalization as Moose seemed to take more comfort from May than Courtney.
Courtney and Moose's relationship had been strained some months later with Moose unable to see Courtney due to his distance from her as he had moved in with his uncle in New Jersey.[2] Moose later returned to Midtown and the two eventually resolved things when Moose realized his smear campaign against Spider-Girl (whom he came to hate for not allowing him to save his father's life with a sample of the Carnage symbiote) wouldn't be what his father wanted.Attributes

- It was hinted that in Spider-Girl: The End! #1 that Courtney was aware that May is Spider-Girl and had kept her secret for some time.
