History
Following the capture of Morbius[4] and the Lizard,[5] the Beyond Corporation used genetic samples taken from both to create a giant vampire/lizard binary clone with a lizard-like body and the wings and fangs of a vampire bat. They subsequently locked the monster behind "Door Z" at their secret facility on Staten Island, earning it the moniker "Creature Z."[1][2]
When Ben Reilly and Peter Parker invaded the facility to shut down Beyond's super villain program, Maxine Danger menaced to unleash Creature Z on them if they didn't cease their attack. However, Ben himself opened Door Z and let Creature Z out, leaving Peter and the Daughters of the Dragon to deal with it while he went after Maxine.[3]
After the trio locked themselves up inside the room Morbius was being kept sedated, Creature Z lost interest in them and tried to escape the facility, but was intercepted by the Daughters of the Dragon and Morbius.[1] Knowing his blood would break the balance between the lizard and vampire halves of Creature Z, Morbius allowed the monster to bite him and drink his blood. Consequently, Creature Z's regenerative abilities got out of control and made it explode.[2]Personality
