History

Crimson was a member of the Ravens, a group of twenty-four psychic vampires who fed off human emotions – particularly those of horror and pain. Her past life is unknown, but she had apparently been a Raven for more than two hundred years.

Attending an art exhibition in New York, Crimson crossed paths with the amnesiac Colossus, and attempted to feed on him. Before she could fully drain him, she was confronted by the Beast, who forced her to flee. Having developed a taste for mutants, she then set her sights on Archangel.[1]

Soon after, Archangel had a confrontation with one of the other Ravens, Azure, killing him. With the loss of one of their number, the Ravens were weakened, and needed to find a replacement to survive. While the other Ravens tried to capture Archangel and force him to join them, Crimson instead plotted to drain him try, believing that due to his immense power, absorbing him completely would allow her to survive even if the rest of the Ravens perished.[2]

Together with the other Ravens, Crimson confronted Archangel, and were able to capture him due to a power inhibiting belt he was wearing.[3] Taking him to an abandoned theatre, the other Ravens began the ritual to transform him into one of them, but Crimson still intended to betray them. When the other members of X-Factor interrupted the ritual, she took advantage of the confusion to approach Archangel, intending to consume him. However, Archangel had been freed of the inhibitor belt, and, regaining his self-control, used his wings to decapitate Crimson, killing her instantly.[4]
