History

Topaz is the daughter of scientist Dr. Rossini, one of the masterminds of Project Armageddon, in which Domino was one of the test subjects. Topaz grew up in the project facilities where she met as a child another test subject named Prototype with whom she began a romantic relationship which she maintained until the end of her days.

This romantic relationship led Topaz to have an irrational hatred for Domino, since Domino through her mutant powers had an unknown negative connection with Prototype, a connection that caused Desmond serious physical and mental suffering, which led him to seek Topaz's help killing her.

After Desmond's death, Domino offered Topaz help to overcome the situation, which she refused. Finally, Topaz and Domino had their last confrontation where Domino shot Topaz.

Personality

Due to her father's upbringing and teaching she considered all mutants monsters, including herself.

Domino and Outlaw offered help to Topaz, in a gesture of mutant solidarity, but both times Topaz refused, considering every mutant a monster without salvation.

• Power Negation: Topaz has the ability to nullify the powers of other mutants.

• Power Amplification: Topaz has the ability to amplify the powers of other mutants until they are totally out of control.

• Plasma Generation: In her childhood Topaz demonstrated the ability to generate an energy of an unknown nature from her hands, the scope of this power is not clear and during her battles as an adult she did not use this power.

• Superhuman Strength: Topaz had the power to face Outlaw superhuman strength without problems.

Topaz has the ability to negate or amplify other powers, it is unknown if this works with powers other than mutant in nature.

Due to her mutant powers being activated since childhood, it is understood that she was one of the few mutants who retained her powers after M-day.
