History

Early Life[]

The youth who would become Czar suffered frequent beatings from his father.[1] His grandmother allegedly told him, "Sometimes you gotta cut the $%'#, baby... and get to the part where somebody's dyin'".[2] At some point, he allegedly killed his own parents.[2] Czar, alongside his diminutive partner Big Murder, became a wealthy drug dealer of some renown.[3]

Time Diamonds[]

Temporally powered diamonds, known as Time Diamonds, grew on trees on a short-lived planet with an unstable core. When the planet exploded, these diamonds were scattered throughout the cosmos.[1] An asteroid loaded with these diamonds struck Earth during the Cretaceous–Paleogene Extinction Event which suposedly wiped out the Dinosaurs.[4] Some of these diamonds eventually ended up in a safety deposit box at a Manhattan bank[4]. When the Orb and his Orblings robbed the bank containing the time diamonds, Spider-Man and Wolverine were caught in the conflict, leading them to be transported back to 66 million B.C.[4]

Working for Mojo[]

Mojo later employed Czar and Big Murder, using their time-traveling abilities to create entertainment across the timeline. They used their newfound powers to steal historical treasures and creating a Harem of women from across the timeline,[1] Czar and Big Murder traveled through time, encountering figures such as Genghis Khan and Joan of Arc. They manipulated events for entertainment, capturing various historical figures and even taunting Kang the Conqueror.[5] They also battled the Knights Templar in 1150 A.D. during the Crusades, using the Timestick to banish one knight to Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.[6]

At one point, Czar encountered his past and future selves at his asteroid estate. His elder incarnation warned him of future mistakes, but the younger Czar dismissed these concerns. This led to a brutal confrontation in which the youngest Czar shot his oldest counterpart in the head.[1] During a confrontation with Spider-Man and Wolverine, Czar used his Timestick, a baseball bat embedded with time diamonds, to manipulate their positions across history. However, Spider-Man stole a time diamond from him, disrupting Czar’s control.[6]

Eventually, during a battle with the two heroes, Wolverine severed Czar’s right hand, rendering him unable to wield the Time Bat effectively During this battle, Czar's Time Bat was progressively destroyed, leading Wolverine to briefly lose control while accessing the Phoenix Force.[1] Czar ultimately found himself incapacitated as the Time Variance Authority intervened, pulling him through a temporal portal along with Big Murder and the Orb.[3]

Defeat[]

Following his capture, Czar was last seen sitting beside an infant Big Murder, contemplating his downfall. Despite his capture, an Orbling later approached Czar with additional time diamonds, implying that his time-traveling escapades might not be over.[3]

Equipment

  • Time Bat is a baseball encrusted with Time Diamonds, wielded by Czar to travel through time at will. By swinging the baseball, Czar and his companion BM can jump across different time periods, experiencing the past, present, and future.[2]
