History
Origin[]
When his powers first manifested, Dallas accidentally scared his grandfather causing him to have a heart attack.[3] Afterward, Dallas was enrolled at the Xavier Institute.[2]
Xavier Institute[]
Originally Emma Frost was assigned as Dallas' mentor. Like the other Hellions, Emma allowed Dallas to choose his codename, Specter.[2]
When the Xavier Institute began the training squad system, Dallas was placed in the Paragons Squad with Wolfsbane as his advisor.[6] Later for unclear reasons, Specter and DJ switched squads, and Specter became a part of the Corsairs under Cyclops.[7]
M-Day[]
Specter was one of the many mutants to lose their powers on M-Day.[1][8] The depowered students of the Xavier Institute were asked to leave the school, but the bus carrying several depowered students was attacked by one of William Stryker's Purifiers.[9] Dallas, however, departed from the Institute early, and went to live with his grandparents.[citation needed]
Krakoa[]
Specter later became a citizen of Krakoa and has regained his mutant powers[5] by participating in the Crucible.[4]
At some point Dallas started dating Graymalkin and together they enrolled into Bishop's War College program. They were placed into the group with D-Cel, Gimmick and Kafka and together participated in a mission to apprehend Snot and Infestation.[10][4] Their group later attended the Hellfire Gala and congratulated D-Cel with the victory of her friend Juggernaut in the vote for becoming a member of the X-Men.[11]Attributes

Notes
- A boy with short blond hair much like Dallas's was seen on the bus that was blown up by William Stryker and his followers. However, he has been stated to have survived during interviews with Christopher Yost.
Trivia
- Dallas briefly appeared in New Mutants (Vol. 2) #3 with Rockslide as Hellion's unnamed friends. Later, Dallas was named in New Mutants (Vol. 2) #10.
- In the New X-Men: Academy X Yearbook #1, Specter was voted "Most Likely to marry a baseline".
- In the New X-Men: Academy X Yearbook #1, Specter listed his likes as "finally being settled in with the Corsairs", and his dislikes as "switching advisers again"; both references to Specter having to switch between three different squads.
