History
The history of this Daniel Sousa diverged from his Earth-199999 counterpart in 1955, mere days before the event that led to his death in the original timeline.[2] When on a routine visit to Area 51, he came across an impostor of his old partner Peggy Carter and apprehended her. This led to a situation where robots from the future attempted to take out S.H.I.E.L.D. leadership and Sousa was forced to work with the infiltrators to stop them.[3] Afterwards, he went on a mission to deliver a package to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, on which he was accompanied by Phil Coulson. After he made the delivery, Coulson's team kidnapped Sousa and faked his death, which would have happened without their intervention. Sousa was aboard their ship Zephyr One when it jumped further in time, leaving him little choice but to join the S.H.I.E.L.D. from the future.[2]
After jumping forward into the mid-1970s and then early 1980s, the team was able to return to their own time around the year 2019 in their original reality. A year later, Sousa traveled with them and, having entered into a relationship with Daisy Johnson, joined her aboard Zephyr One as an interstellar ambassador.[4]Notes
