Synopsis for "Inside Job"

Matt Murdock remembers back to the accident that gave him his powers and the death of Karen Page, but the images that flash through his mind are not from his life. Instead, he sees Hank Pym, ants, and Janet van Dyne’s gravestone.

Giant-Man is at a miniscule size inside Matt’s brain, using an E.M.P. on the Latverian nanobots that have overwritten all of Matt’s senses. Tony Stark and Dr. Strange are monitoring Matt and the operation in a Stark Industries lab. Dr. Strange, with his knowledge as a neurosurgeon, serves as Giant-Man’s guide. As Hank progresses through the seemingly endless swarm of nanobots, he begins to get flashes of memories from Matt’s past. A damaged, exposed antenna on Giant-Man’s helmet combined with the radioactivity in Matt’s brain is causing Hank to experience Matt’s memories, and his senses become hyperactive just like Matt’s.

Suddenly, Matt begins to have a seizure and Hank is overwhelmed by nanobots, losing hold of his E.M.P. gun. Hank struggles to separate his own thoughts from Matt’s, experiencing Matt’s radar sense for himself. Hank gradually gains control and locates the E.M.P., then proceeds to destroy the rest of the nanobots and emerges from Matt’s ear.

Dr. Strange checks Hank’s vitals, and Hank shares the newfound respect he has gained for Matt and all he’s been through. At that moment, Matt awakens from his coma and is relieved to discover all of his heightened senses and his radar sense have returned. When he learns he’s been missing for over a week, he quickly dons his mask and jumps out the window.

Sometime later, Matt casually returns to the offices of Nelson & Murdock, where he finds a less than welcoming reception from the staff. Foggy Nelson calls Matt into his office and tells him he’s been taken off all their cases. Exasperated and angry, he says Matt’s mental state is in question and that he is fed up with Matt’s lies. Foggy pulls out a box he found in Matt’s desk, which contains the contents of Jack Murdock’s grave - dirt, Jack’s skull, and Jack’s boxing gloves. A stunned Matt tries to tell Foggy he didn’t rob his own father’s grave, that he’s been set up, but Foggy will hear none of it. Foggy tells Matt that they’re through until Matt gets the help he needs.
