Synopsis for "Daredevil Back in NYC!"

A mobster Daredevil was chasing - Darius Giacomo - has thrown a flash drive into the lion enclosure at the Bronx Zoo. Daredevil finds himself suspended upside-down from a tree in the enclosure, trying to quietly reach the drive, which is lying on the ground inches beyond his fingertips. The limb Daredevil is hanging from snaps, and while he can now grab the drive, it’s not all good news - the noise wakes up two angry lions, which are quick to pounce on the intruder. Daredevil uses his agility and his billy clubs to evade the big cats, receiving only a scratch on his shoulder for his trouble. He then swings over the enclosure’s fence and is immediately met with a barrage of gunfire. Giacomo stuck around “to watch the show”, but it’s Daredevil’s turn to pounce on his prey.

The next day, Matt Murdock meets with several clients within the new business model of Nelson & Murdock, Attorneys at Law: counseling down-on-their-luck people with seemingly unwinnable cases on how to act as their own lawyers in court. Later, Matt and Foggy Nelson wait anxiously by the phone for news of the verdict of a case. Their associate, James, calls and tells them their client, Mr. Pampolos, won thanks to documents from the flash drive showing the Giacomos bribed the zoning board so that Pampolos would give up his family bar. Pampolos excitedly grabs the phone from James and tells Matt he can drink for free at his bar for life. He worries about retaliation from the Giacomos, but Matt says the positive press he’s receiving has made him untouchable.

Later, Matt and Foggy work out in the new gym Matt had built in the Nelson & Murdock offices. Foggy worries that their new venture is going to invite people with frivolous lawsuits to their doorstep. He tells Matt about one call he received among the nutjobs about a wrongful termination suit that he thinks Matt might find interesting. While Matt is hesitant because of the difficulty of such cases, Foggy tells him the prospective client is blind.

Matt has their secretary call a messenger service for a package he wants at an address within the hour, then heads down to the street. He listens for the various cries for help coming from the city and changes into his Daredevil costume in an alleyway. On today’s patrol, Daredevil stops a robbery at a diner, rescues two children from a fire at an apartment building, and battles the Great Gambonnos on a cable car line.

Daredevil swings onto a fire escape and stealthily grabs the package Matt’s secretary sent ahead of him from the floor in front of an apartment door. He changes into the suit inside and knocks on the door. Austin Cao, the blind man Foggy told Matt about earlier, answers and invites Matt in. The apartment is a mess, a clear sign of Austin’s depression. Austin tells Matt he can speak nearly 30 languages and used to work as an interpreter at Midas Investments. He was a star employee until one day when he showed off his skills to some colleagues by pinpointing the dialects of two men walking by in the hallway as Latverian. An hour later, he was fired.

Matt tells Austin that unfortunately, his story doesn’t hint at anything that would support a lawsuit. He joins Austin by the window and tells him he’ll find other work and that everything will be fine. Little do the two blind men know that dozens of laser sights are now trained on them...
