Synopsis for "Doing Time: Part 2"
In Hell's Kitchen, Mike Murdock meets with his friend Butch Pharris, recently promoted to the role of lieutenant by the new kingpin of New York, Izzy Libris. In his new role, Butch has been tasked to stop the new Daredevil that is fighting criminals in Hell's Kitchen. Izzy found some muscle to help him in his task...
Meanwhile, Matthew Murdock is recovering in hospital after being stabbed and beaten in prison. Coming to visit him are his lawyer Kirsten McDuffie and detective Cole North. They introduce to Matt an FBI Agent who offers him an undercover job: the prison facility he resides in is property of a real estate tycoon who does something fishy inside the walls of the prisons he holds as property. The FBI wants Daredevil to discover why, and in exchange for the favor he'll be once again a free man. Matt accepts the deal, but once again tells everybody he will spend his entire term in prison.
On the roofs of the Kitchen, Elektra is trying to make Alice forget her recent traumatazing experience with some training, and after receiving an alarm about the activity of former Owl goon Butch Pharris, now Izzy's right hand, Elektra proposes to Alice to get some action with her. Meanwhile, at the home of the mayor, Wilson Fisk organized a surprise for Mary: Fisk would like to start over with her, and do things the right way.
Dressed as Daredevil, Elektra goes to a club that, like ninety percent of the Kitchen, she now owns. Not afraid to use her public identity, Elektra is granted access of the building by being the owner. Together with Alice, she heads straight towards Butch, and the two start a discussion. Butch tells her that thanks to her decision of renting property for cheap prices, people have more money to buy drugs and have fun, and he has more money to buy guns to protect them. Elektra underlines how all of these things he just said are illegal, and that Butch cannot succeed in making people believe he's some kind of freedom fighter.
Butch answers that to save and control the Kitchen, she will need the Kitchen's people. Their faith, something he now holds. In that moment, an assassin armed with a katana enters stage, attacking Elektra, while one of Butch's goons attacks Alice. Elektra is surprised by the skill of the assassin, and the fact that she must restrain herself from delivering any killing blow makes her fighting style less effective. The assassin almost gains the upper hand, when Alice shoots him in the stomach with the goon's gun. Alice crushes to the floor, in shock, after seeing the man he shot dissolving in a puff of green smoke. Izzy and Butch have gained the support of the Hand.
Back to the hospital, Devil is being brought back to jail, but North requests some minutes to talk with him privately: Cole tells Matt that his stubborness is stupid, and that he should think also to all the people working to help him get out of the mess. He should accept the deal. Meanwhile, Mayor Fisk is training in his private gym when he receives a call: it is Bullseye, from Ravencroft. He's free, without control and more powerful than ever. Fisk just released an out-of-control madman in his own city.
