Synopsis for 1st story

The Hand offers Matt Murdock unlimited resources, and he ultimately decides to accept their trial to become their leader. Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, a corrupt judge and several police officers try to intimidate Detective Kurtz, but they are killed by a mysterious ninja—apparently Lady Bullseye. This incident catches the attention of Norman Osborn. Alarmed by the chaos in Hell’s Kitchen, Osborn orders Bullseye (now operating under the Hawkeye identity) to eliminate Daredevil.

During one of Matt’s initiation trials, Bullseye interrupts, accompanied by Osborn’s men. Daredevil pursues him but falls into a trap: Bullseye lures him into a building full of protestors and then blows it up. Lady Bullseye witnesses the explosion and informs Kingpin, believing Matt is dead. The blast kills 117 people, leaving Matt devastated and furious—determined to take action and send a message.

In a preview of issue #501, Matt listens to a memorial mass for the victims while Master Izo tries to console him. But Matt’s initiation demands a sacrifice… and it’s not his own life he must offer, but Master Izo’s, who is soon surrounded by Hand ninjas.
