History

David Garrett provided financial backing for Gilbert Wiles so he could monitor and study the Uni-Power.

A.I.M. had significant interest in the Uni-Power (which is associated with Captain Universe). A.I.M. believed they could utilize the power to further their goals.

After Garrett was deemed no longer useful to A.I.M., he was killed by Lombardi, an A.I.M. agent.
