Synopsis for "One Foot in Hell"
This Devil-Slayer, Danny Sylva, is set during the American occupation of Iraq. Danny returns for his third tour of duty after having difficulties adjusting to civilian life (girlfriend dumps him, can't find work). When a fellow soldier named Wahl disappears, Danny's squad gets a lead on him, but they walk into an ambush and all but Danny are killed. Danny finds Wahl, strung up by his ankles with his throat cut while devils feed upon human bodies.
Notes
- This title is the second in a series of Dead of Night spotlight titles. The first was Dead of Night Featuring the Man-Thing.
- This version of Devil-Slayer is not to be confused with Eric Simon Payne, the original Devil-Slayer.
- The "Bloodstone" referenced in this issue is not to be confused with famed monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone, or his daughter Elsa Bloodstone.
