Synopsis for "Comrades At Arms (And Arms And Arms)"
Deadpool kneels on the floor of Doctor Octopus's laboratory in pain and confusion, as the result of Harrower's experiments becomes apparent: a pair of living symbiote arms protruding from his torso. Offering it a tentative fist bump, Deadpool is delighted when the newborn "Carnage" reciprocates; as a confused Doctor Octopus demands answers as to Deadpool's presence in his lab, Deadpool and his new companion leap at him, declaring his need to kill him as part of his audition with the Atelier. His attack is interrupted by one of Harrower's plant mutant minions slamming into him, and as he reels in pain, Harrower and Otto, who is familiar with Harrower's great-aunt Augusta, begin arguing over the destruction being dealt to his lab. The "Carnage" symbiote living in Deadpool is continuing to eat away at Deadpool's organs, but they cooperate as Otto and Harrower attack again. For a time, Deadpool's efforts to fight them off are successful, redirecting their attacks towards each other --and perturbing Otto with salacious jokes-- but as the "Carnage" symbiote staves off a blow from Otto's tentacle, Deadpool's elation is interrupted by a third arm erupting forth-- from his mouth.
Otto is disgusted and terrified by the new limb protruding from Deadpool's face (as is Deadpool), and begins slamming him into the floor repeatedly in an effort to dislodge the symbiote limb still clinging to him. Harrower attempts to seize Deadpool with a plant limb, only for the arm to morph into a bladed limb and slice the offending plant in two. Deadpool accepts his new circumstances and attempts, in a very muffled voice, to convince his symbiotic companion to attack Otto; instead, the "Carnage" symbiote runs to attack Harrower, despite Deadpool's protests. Harrower succeeds in tearing the third limb from Deadpool's mouth, allowing him to speak again, but not without being wounded by a symbiote tendril herself. As Deadpool prepares to continue fighting, however, the melee is interrupted by the surprise appearance of Lady Deathstrike, who crashes in through the skylight and slashes Otto's back.
A reeling Otto repels Deathstrike's attack, who declares her intention to kill him, much to Otto's distress. Deadpool's attempt at a joke is interrupted by Deathstrike, who begins to berate Deadpool for ghosting her. Deathstrike was assigned as Deadpool's partner by the Atelier, sent to assassinate Doctor Octopus alongside him, but so smitten was Deadpool by his new crush, Valentine Vuong, that he didn't even recall her presence; further exacerbating Deathstrike's rage is the fact that Deadpool proceeded to disappear for nearly 24 hours, requiring her to abandon her attempts to reach him and go to kill Otto by herself. Deadpool attempts to apologise and explain his disappearance was, as it were, due to being kidnapped, but Deathstrike snaps at him to shut up and aid her in killing Otto, who has just agreed to team up with Harrower in capturing Deadpool. The brawl breaks out again, now two against two, but the fight goes poorly for Deathstrike and Deadpool, not least because the growing symbiote in his body is continuing to consume him from the inside. In desperation, he slices off the nascent limbs and hurls them at the two supervillains, using the opportunity to leap out the window to freedom, abandoning a furious Deathstrike to deal with Harrower and Otto alone.
A rapidly bleeding-out Deadpool manages to make it to Valentine Vuong's safehouse; a shocked Valentine is greeted by Deadpool collapsing from blood loss and heart failure on their doorstep. Back at Octavius's lab, Otto and Harrower set things straight, and come to an agreement: Harrower gets Otto's assistance in capturing Deadpool, whose body she needs to keep her new hybrid "Carnage" alive until it finishes growing, and in return Otto gets his revenge on Deadpool once she's finished with him. Meanwhile, Deathstrike patches up her wounds, but is dismayed to find her time is up-- she and Deadpool have failed their audition, and are barred entry to the Atelier. Deathstrike swears bloody revenge on Deadpool, who, at the same time, is lying unconscious in Valentine's kitchen. Despite orders to turn away both assassins by the Horned Emperor, Valentine smiles menacingly at the tiny symbiote they've just extracted from Deadpool's body, as the sinister shadow of Carnage is cast over the room.
